When I decided I was going to teach myself HTML I needed to find some reliable resources. I started out with CodeAcademy, this website allows you to explore new and different ways to code. I decided to start with HTML and CSS because I am interested in websites. HTML and CSS and the building blocks of most websites.
I enjoyed CodeAcademy so much I decided to save up for a reference book. I chose ‘Beginning HTML5 and CSS3 for Dummies‘. I have used this book as a reference for writing lesson blog posts.
A great online reference is w3schools. This website has a complete reference guide to all HTML tags as well as CSS. This website also offers other web languages like JavaScript, that I’d like to start learning soon.
This video talks about why it is important to learn code and the possiblities it creates, WATCH IT NOW!

Do you think I should learn JavaScript first?
Georgia (By the way, I’m 12… *Awkward Moment*)
Hi Anna!
Thanks for your feedback! π It’s great to see my classmates supporting me through my project!

Hmm tough one – learning JavaScript is definitely worth while, you can do a lot of cool stuff with it, but you can get by without it for a while still.
I won’t tell you how old I am – but I never found a computer that cared π
